Jeremy Asher is Chairman of Agile Energy Limited, a privately held energy investment company; a director of Tower Resources plc, an AIM-listed oil & gas exploration company; a director of Better Place BV (and its Danish affiliate Better Place Denmark A/S), a company promoting and enabling the mass deployment of electric cars; and an advisor to Oil Refineries Limited, an independent refiner and petrochemicals producer. Until recently, he also served as a director of Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd, another AIM-listed oil & gas exploration company where he remains a significant shareholder; and Process Systems Enterprise Ltd, a developer of process simulation software, in which role he represented Imperial Innovations Ltd, the commercial arm of Imperial College, where he is a member of the Engineering Advisory Board.
Jeremy has had a career embracing both consulting to and running a variety of enterprises. Following several years consulting with what is now Oliver Wyman, he ran the global oil products trading business at Glencore AG, and then acquired, developed and sold the 275,000 b/d Beta oil refinery at Wilhelmshaven in Germany. As CEO of PA Consulting Group, he oversaw PA’s globalization and growth from 2,500 to nearly 4,000 staff, and negotiated and managed the integration of PA’s acquisition of Hagler Bailly, Inc. Jeremy was also involved in setting up a number of PA’s ventures including UbiNetics Ltd. and Meridica Ltd.
He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and the Harvard Business School, where he received his MBA with high distinction in 1981 and was designated a Baker Scholar, and he is also a member of the London Business School’s Global Advisory Council.
